Αναμφίβολα ο Ιανουάριος μας αποχαιρετά με ευχάριστα νέα για τους κατόχους του Πήγασου. Εκτός από Morphos είναι εφικτό να τρέξει και Amiga OS 4.1 :-)

Εδώ και μερικές μέρες στο laptop εγκατέστησα έναν παλαιό Mobile Pentium 4 3.06GHz. Όλα καλά! Αισθητή αύξηση της απόκρισης του συστήματος και ευσεβείς πόθοι απο μεριά μου οτι θα αξιοποιήσω το CPU scaling.

Μετά από έρευνα κατέληξα στην εξής μέθοδο:

- σε κονσόλα εκτελώ sudo modprobe p4-clockmod

- εγκαθιστώ το CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor στο panel του Gnome

Έχω την δυνατότητα να ρυθμίζω on the fly την συχνότητα λειτουργίας του επεξεργαστή αλλά και on demand.

Σε όλες τις περιπτώσεις σε μη τακτικά χρονικά διαστήματα το σύστημα κρασσάρει. Μιλάμε για το απόλυτο crash.

Υπάρχει κάποια ιδέα / λύση;

Με την Beta των Windows 7 να είναι για μερικές μέρες ακόμη διαθέσιμη για download ολοένα και περισσότεροι χρήστες «παίζουν» με αυτά.

Εντύπωση μου έκαναν οι τεχνικές τους απαιτήσεις. Λέτε να έκαναν δουλειά στην M$;

Δεν μπήκα στον πειρασμό να τα δοκιμάσω.

Μερικοί αναφέρονται στα 7 με ιδιαίτερα θετικά σχόλια. Η ταχύτητα των XP με το καλαίσθητο περιβάλλον εργασίας των Vista.

Εδώ υπάρχει ένα αρκετά καλό review της Beta. Είναι πολύ νωρίς να πούμε οτιδήποτe για tα 7 ωστόσο ας ελπίσουμε να έχουν ξεπεραστεί οι σκόπελοι των Vista.

Ο δρόμος για μια πλήρως FPGA based Amiga με HD support ανοιξε. Είναι ακόμη preview και σίγουρα ο ARM και το όλο project χρίζει επιπλέον βελτίωσης :-)
